Happy New Year?

Recent posts suggest that concern is mounting amongst residents at the prospect of chaotic scenes in Pennington Street caused by Mango's revelers.

If you are disturbed by the all-too-familiar noise nuisance or witness any criminality, please take the time to leave a comment on the blog.

Happy New Year? Well, it will be if we get the desired result at the Magistrates Court.

Saturday 16th January- Mangos is in full swing. Cars parked all the way down Pennington Street (no security guard in sight all night). I was woken from 2am until 4am with people leaving the club shouting, swearing, screaming, car stereos, fighting. The next morning I was so tired. Mangos owners have blatently showed that they have no interest in the residents of Pennington Street. I would have at least expected security to be tight the weekend before the Licensing review!! I will be mentioning this on Tuesday in court

Wouldn't it be better to suggest just to change the parking laws around your local area.. because at least then everyone will park further away or decide to take a cab home therefore leaving the venue quicker to get to their mode of transport home.
Mangos security should not be responsible for residents parking - that's the council's responsibility.

I don't want to hear your car stereo at 04:00 am said...

"Wouldn't it be better to suggest..." - better than what, precisely? I find your comment somewhat baffling. There are current parking restrictions in place in Pennington Street but these restrictions tend not to be enforced in the ealy hours of the morning.
"Mango's should not be responsible for resident's parking..."? I am not aware of suggestion along these lines. If you have strong views on parking I suggest you express them to the appropriate department of LBTH.
